About Belmont
A river town that's filling up fast
Belmont started out as Garibaldi Station, a stop on the railroad. It was renamed in 1883 for the New York banker August Belmont and became a town in 1895. The monks of Belmont Abbey have been here even longer: the college they run was founded in 1876.
The town sits on a strip of land between the Catawba River and its South Fork, where both widen into arms of Lake Wylie. Charlotte is about 12 miles east and Gastonia about 9 miles west, with I-85 and NC 273 tying it all together. That location is why the population jumped from 10,076 in 2010 to 15,010 in 2020.

Are you actually in Belmont?
No. Our office is in Mooresville, and we'd rather say that than rent a mailbox on Main Street. Most of the work happens on the phone and by email, and Roger drives down to Gaston County when sitting across a table helps.
How long until my new site is up?
Around a week for a small site and two to three weeks for a larger one. The biggest variable is how fast we get your photos and your notes on the draft.
