Cramerton and Stanley are small towns with long histories, and plenty of the businesses there run on word of mouth. That works until a new neighbor searches for you and finds nothing, or finds a competitor first.

Cramerton began in 1906 as Mayesworth, a mill village built around J.H. Mayes's spinning mill on the South Fork Catawba River. Stuart Cramer bought the mill in 1910, turned it into a model mill village, and renamed the town after himself in 1921. He's also credited with coining the term "air conditioning."

The town was incorporated in 1967 and counted 5,296 residents in 2020. The river makes a sharp S-curve through the middle of town, around Goat Island Park, which you reach by two footbridges and which has an 18-hole disc golf course.

For a Cramerton business, the challenge is being seen as local by people in Belmont, Lowell and Gastonia too. Your site and Google listing need to name the towns you truly serve, and back that up with photos and reviews from real jobs.

Stanley

Stanley was incorporated in 1879 and had 3,963 residents at the 2020 census. Its motto is "A Friendly Place," and it's home to East Gaston High School.

In a town Stanley's size, most customers already know the business names. Your website's job is to confirm you're still open, make your hours and number easy to find, and give newcomers a reason to call you rather than someone from a bigger town.

What we'd focus on for both towns

  • A Google listing that matches your site exactly, with the right service area.
  • A site sized to the business. Many shops here need a five-page Starter site, not fifteen pages.
  • Real local proof: job photos, reviews and the neighborhoods you work in.

Questions from Cramerton and Stanley

Do you really work with businesses in Cramerton and Stanley?

Yes. It's the same service, prices and person as in Belmont. Both towns are a short drive up the river.

Should my site have a separate page for each town?

Only if you do real work there and have something specific to say. A page with the town name swapped in doesn't help, and Google treats it as spam.

My shop is in Cramerton, but most customers come from Belmont and Gastonia. What then?

Then your site should say so clearly, and your Google listing's service area should list those towns. We'll set both up to match.
